What a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours with a special lady teaching you crafts that you enjoy doing – Dawn

I have really enjoyed taking dressmaking and patchwork classes with Jacky. She is an inspirational teacher who makes everything possible. You always leave her classes happier and with lots of ideas buzzing around your head. – Louise

I am new to the class but I have been to two other sewing schools in the Swindon area. Jacky keeps her classes small so that she has plenty of time to help each student. Jacky will show you how to do things the proper way and her knowledge and experience is second to none. - Sogs

I was looking for a sewing teacher to teach me to use my various sewing machines and overlockers to a better degree.  ….Since then I have learned how to read a pattern correctly, choose the right fabric, do all the little fiddly things I never learned properly how to do until now. I am no lnger ashamed to wear anything that I make.  I have also seen the breadth of her knowledge with

regards to almost any craft that can be done with a machine, sticks, hooks or a needle.
….She will also always go that extra mile to help, no question is too ridiculous, and I would recommend her to teach you regardless of what experience you have. You will learn something new every time.  And all of this comes with free laughter and a cup of tea. –

Before going to Jacky's sewing school, I would have considered myself quite an accomplished sewer; I've made various gifts and clothes (including my own wedding dress) but with Jacky I actually learnt to do everything properly!
She gave really clear instructions and guidance on how to make my garment and all with patience and a smile! I had picked up some very bad habits and shortcuts which led to me often not wearing the things I had made. Jacky teaches you everything from start to finish and leads by example.
I had such fun doing the course with Jacky and I intend to go back in the future - it's a perfect course for beginners but also people like me who never learnt things properly the first time around! You're guaranteed an outfit worthy of wearing and weekly giggles! –

Really enjoyed learning to cross stitch and do patchwork in a relaxed, friendly environment with lots of joy and laughter in the lessons. Jacky has so much knowledge and talent in craft and is so patient, she takes lots of time to explain so you understand, adapting to different learning styles. I learnt so many skills and had so much support with no rush to complete things. Thank you Jacky!  - Niamh

About me

Hi

I'm Jacky Smith and I have been teaching crafts professionally since 2014 when I  opened a studio in the centre of Swindon. Before that I have been an avid dressmaker for many years and taken the time to acquire City and Guilds qualifications in Dressmaking, Embroidery and Patchwork & Quilting.

Due to health reasons I am now teaching from home and my studio is my conservatory. I have discovered that private and small group teaching is my strength as it allows me to tailor the course to the customers needs.

I am very proud of my Sewing and Craft school and set high standards for myself.
